When you’re at a birthday party, everyone looks forward to the cake for two reasons.

Most folks buy a cake, have something really boring like “Happy Birthday (insert child’s name)” written smack dab in the middle of the frosting, add candles, light and serve. Yawn.

Kids take their birthdays very seriously, and are extremely disappointed if their birthday parties are anything short of spectacular. Throwing an unforgettable kids birthday party can sometimes seem like a task better suited for a professional event planner. But with the proper party supplies, a little know how and a lot of imagination, you can throw a birthday party that the kids will be talking about all year.

For busy working adults, shopping for birthday party supplies is a task that takes much too much time. Most people are looking for somewhere they can go and get everything they need at one store. Not a difficult task except that they are also looking for a large selection from which to choose. That is a more difficult task in many cases. One of the most memorable parties my daughter ever attended was an 18th birthday party her friend’s mom put together for him and his friends. All of the teens were thinking of college. It was May of their senior year. They all were graduating in just 4 weeks. They had all chosen and been accepted to the colleges of their choices.

These days, you can probably buy just about any style of child’s birthday cake already made. But there is nothing like the sense of satisfaction from making that special cake just for your child – after all, they have each birthday only once!
